Not all Roman Streets are deserted, narrow alleys.

Roman history tells us that the city was founded in the mid 8th century B.C. Archaeologists have found traces of foundations of the thatched huts of the early settlers on Palatine Hill, later the site of noble palaces. Shepherds and farmers lived on four of Rome's seven hills.

Central Rome is a mix of ancient ruins dating from the hay-days of the Roman Empire 2000 years ago, medieval palaces and apartments, and trendy modern boutiques. Centuries-old Christian churches and public buildings are built on the foundations temples dedicated to the pagan gods.
