Kananaskis Country
Trip Day Twelve: June 23, 2000

In Texas we call them cattle guards.

Texas gates marked the boundaries of the provincial parks we had been driving through.
We almost had this road to ourselves, then we came to an area that was used for recreation. There were a lot of campgrounds along the Kananaskis River near the village of the same name. Traffic increased as we approached Trans Canada Highway 1.

Highway 1 is a divided highway connecting Calgary and Banff—improved, no doubt, for the Winter Olympics hosted by Calgary a few years back. We'll jump on the busy highway and be in Banff in a short time. That's next in our photo tour.
