Waterton Lakes National Park,
Kilmorey Lodge
Trip Day Ten: June 21, 2000
Kilmorey Lodge

Rather than stay at the grand old hotel, this time we opted for the cozy Kilmorey Lodge.
We had made the reservation based on pictures and descriptions on their website.

The Gazebo

It was a bit early in the season for the picnics the lodge hosts at this gazebo, but they kept it filled with flowers. They used the inside as a shelter for surplus hanging baskets.

Gormet Dining

Reservations are definitely in order if you want to dine here.
The lodge's dining room, the Lamp Post, is a popular dining spot for lodge guests and others in the village. The atmosphere is casual, but the food is first rate. We enjoyed the opportunity to sample such delicacies as ostrich and caribou. We laughed about the fact that the ostrich could have come from ranches within 50 miles of our home. But we've never seen it on the menus in our local restaurants.
