Campbell River
The Strait of Georgia
These protected waters are what is also known as the Inside Passage.
Although very difficult to navigate in places, most of the Alaska-bound cruise ships
take advantage of the proctection and us this route.
Mud Flats @ Low Tide Near Campbell River
This waterway is actually a glacial valley that became water-filled when
sea levels rose at the end of the last ice age.

Signs of the Times
Campbell River, a fair-sized city with a population of 28,456 at the last census count, is known as the Salmon Capital of the World.
