I'm not sure which bridge we were crossing as this picture was taken, but we were not aware that within an hour, this day was to be turned up-side-down. It was to become the most infamous day in American history. We were to learn of it at a highway service center near Portland when we stopped for some hot chocolate shortly after the first plane hit the World Trade Center.
