This is an inlet of the river that was featured in James Mitchner's Chesapeake.

After we checked into the motel we went down to the marina and found some of the famous Eastern Shore crab cakes and fried oysters. We loved them.

Downtown St. Michaels

James Mitchner spent most of his research time for Chesapeake headquartered in St. Michaels.
So, it's a natural thing for readers of that great novel to come here to see where it happened.
