Ashville
There are several large hotels and motels in Ashville, but we decided to stay at the Forest Manor Inn, not far from The Biltmore Estate. Have you ever stayed where white towels covered the door mats? That's how clean innkeepers, Loyd and Leone Kirk kept the place!
We bought our admission tickets for the Biltmore Estate tour from our innkeepers. They advised us that if we enter the estate at 3:00 PM or later we could return the next day on the same tickets. This proved to a great bit of advise. After checking in, we went on to Biltmore House and toured the first floor. We also followed their suggestion to tour the winery later, then have dinner there.
What a wonderful introduction to Ashville and North Carolina!
