While returning from a few days in East Texas, on October 24, 2008, we headed for Palestine and the Texas State Railroad Depot. When we are near one of the old railroads that now haul tourists, we don't often miss an opportunity to take a ride. We had seen a documentary on TV about the railroad, so went to their Web site for more information when we decided to visit the area. Our advance tickets meant that our sack lunch was waiting for us as we boarded the train.
