When we were finally ready to venture back out in the heat, it was after 6 PM.
If we had read the San Antonio Attractions Guide, which we had with us, we would have known
the Alamo would be closed by that time. But we had not looked at that section,
so, we were disappointed to find it closed when we arrived.
Daughters of the Republic of Texas maintain and operate the shrine.
They have done a beautiful job with the maintenance and landscapping the grounds.
