Visitor Center

When they discovered that this was a good area for growing fruit, Mormon pioneers established the aptly named community of Fruita, which is now an historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Visitor Center is located in this historic community.

Peach Tree, Max Krueger Orchard

The relatively flat, fertile, silt deposits surrounded by heat-radiating cliffs proveded an abundant subsistence for up to ten families. The orchards those settlers planted continue to flourish, tended by park workers who invite you to sample the "fruits" of their labor.
