Zion National Park

Near the West Park Entrance On Highway 9
Trip Day Twenty-seven: Saturday, July 8, 2000

Vistas of scenic grandeur greet the visitor approaching the park from the west long before they arrive at the park.

There were long lines at the gates waiting admission to the park. The park road, Utah Highway 9, is also a regional highway. This route is the closest way for people to go from Interstate 15 to Page, Arizona, the activity center for the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. One delay was caused by people wanting to use vehicles larger than the limits allowed by the park tunnels. They just won't let large vehicles cross the park.
