At Sea

The Sun Rises Over Our Balcony Rail

Princess Patter for September 23, 2007 informed us that our captain was Nicholas Carlton whose first command was the original Pacific Princess, TV's Love Boat. For our first evening aboard the Princess Theater presented a production show titled Welcome Aboard Showtime starring comedian Jim McDonald and featuring the Sun Princess Dancers and Crusie Staff.

Our cabin was B308 on the port side of the Baja Deck. The port side of the ship faced east most of the time, so we saw a lot of sunrises. The crew was speedy in getting our baggage delivered to the staterooms, and our time was occupied with unpacking after watching our departure from Seattle.

It didn't take long to adjust to the gentle motion of the Pacific Ocean and our time was spent learning where things were. We sampled the Scholarship@Sea program with guest lecturers Paul Wolfe and Ann Burgess, and still had time for two movies. This was our first experience with anytime dining.

Approaching The Golden Gate Bridge

It is now 9:10 AM, Tuesday morning.
Many passengers are on deck anticipating the passage under the Golden Gate Bridge and our entry into San Francisco Bay. Marin County on the north coast of Golden Gate Strait is visible on the horizon.
