Luxury Bath
This bathroom includes a Jacuzzi Tub, a glass-enclosed stall shower, with toilet and lavatory in a separate compartment. The shower also has a temporary clothes line that can be stretched across to take care of any drying that may be necessary during the trip. Pat did wash undies in the room during the crossing, and although the mini-suite doesn't qualify for free laundry and dry cleaning services as the full suites do, we did send other garments to the laundry frequently.

These pictures were taken around 4:20PM after we watched our departure from Seattle through Puget Sound.

We will soon report to our muster stations for the lifeboat drill. Sun Princess does not require passengers to stand on deck under their designated boat. Instead they have passengers report to designated public rooms to meet with crew members who determine that everyone has successfully put on his or her life jacket. We were told that in the event of an emergency, this is the place to report with life jacket and be ready to follow instructions of crew members who would meet us there.

Unpacking is the first order of business.

That is, it comes after a sail away party, and meals and any other activities besides going to bed. Although this was a spacious cabin, it allowed no space for luggage to sit around and us too. The door to a cabinet enclosing a couple of shelves and the in-room safe stands open while we stow things there. So we unpacked as quickly as possible and Owen nested the bags so that we could stow them under the bed. By this time (7:17 PM), it was one bed, and not two. Incidently, our new red luggage was so easy to pick out in the terminals. Black is still the color of choice for most people. Luggage does come in a large variety of colors these days. And the 4-wheel "spinners" are so very easy to manuver.

Nestability is a plus for this set.

Store three cases in the space of one. The door to the walk-in closet stands open while we hang clothing. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of wooden hangers in that closet. With just a little care, we had plenty for the 30-day cruise.

Whew!
After all that we were ready for a little R&R on the veranda. But our first days on the ship were so busy it was a while before we had a chance to really crash out there. We did find time to do a little uninterrupted reading on the veranda, however.

We always like to have a veranda whether or not we acutally spend time there. Often the weather is not good for balcony sitting, but we enjoy having the ocean view and the access to the weather. The first thing we do in the morning is to go out there, and that's usually the last thing we do at night. So we don't feel it's a needless expense.
