On Board the Sun Princess
Onboard Art Collection
I once heard a passenger mention that she had heard that Sun Princess had a $2 million art collection on board, and she wondered where it was. On hearing the question, I wondered if she was expecting a room with all the art work displayed
there as if it was a museum. We did not intentionally go around and take pictures of the art that is displayed everywhere
on the ship. Here are pictures of just a few of them.
Here is one of my favorites. It is probably close to 8 feet in diameter and displayed on one of the landings of the
central stairway.

People relax near a scene of Tuscany.
The huge painting depicts the famous columnar cedar trees that grow in the Tuscany region of Italy.
The painting is one of many that decorate the ship.

Palms on Beach
Above: The watercolor painting in our living room was of palms on a very white beach.
I recall that a painting in another Sun Princess cabin on another cruise was of Friesland, a
district of Germany.
Bathroom Art
This Tiffany-style design covers the lighting over the jacuzzi tub in our cabin bathroom.

Fountain Sculpture Tucked Under A Stairway
And then if you are interested in seeing art on the Sun Princess, you only have to walk down the
corridor that leads to the Princess Theater where the art to be included in the art auctions they
conduct all the time are on display or merely stacked there. Sometimes it's difficult to pass by
it because it's stacked everywhere — which cheapens the whole affair. We didn't attend any
of their auctions, so we don't know how many people live to attend those auctions, or how well it
sells. It seems there's far too much of it and too often, giving the appearance of junk for sale,
not to mention the safety hazard created.
