Fruit BatsThese nocturnal fruit bat "camps" are hanging in the trees as they sleep. They will awaken at dusk and go out hunting for fruit for their dinner. They are important to the life cycle of the fruits they consume. These fruits depend on the bats for pollination or seed dispersal: bananas, peaches, dates, carob, avocados, jack fruit, plantains, mango, guava, cashews, figs, and durian. |
