This is the main street of the shopping area of downtown. Nearest the camera is the Queen Victoria Building, the home of up-scale shops. The building was constructed on the site of the old George Street Market in 1898. The Romanesque architecture features stained glass windows, a huge central dome, and a number of smaller domes.
