Glaciers Near Cook Inlet
We fly by glaciers west of the mouth of the Cook Inlet.
Upper left corner of page: These little icebergs are chunks that have broken off the
glacier below. They float in the lake trapped by the terminal moraine.
Below: Our pilot takes us in 'up close and personal' to this
piedmont glacier. The terminal moraine isolated this glacier
from the sea. Coal stains much of the ice in this glacier.
