Fireweed grows everywhere we visited in Alaska. Fireweed is one of those plants that bloom up a spike, beginning at the bottom. In Alaska they watch the Fireweed to see when to expect the first snow. When the last blooms appear at the top of the spike, it's time for it to snow.
     We stopped to enjoy the view of the volcanos across the Cook Inlet from Anchor Point.
