Visitor Shelter Goat Haunt Ranger Station, Glacier N. P.

Ranger Jim Lockhart
This summer ranger spends his winters at his home in Pennsylvania. In his younger days he has worked in many of our national parks, including Denali in Alaska. We enjoyed hearing of his experiences in Alaska. He actually climbed Denali in the 1960s!
Below: The ranger offered to take our picture, so here it is.

Our cruise boat has seen duty on this lake for a long, long time — since the 1920s or 1930s.
Goat Haunt was a stop on the overland tourist trail in the early days when they rode from one hotel or chalet to the next in order to tour the park. The very boat we ride today, the International, would take the group from Goat Haunt on a cruise up the lake to the Prince Of Wales Hotel!

Mt. Cleveland
As we move up the lake from Goat Haunt Ranger Station, we just get a glimpse of Mt. Cleveland, the tallest peak in Waterton - Glacier National Parks. The peak is in Glacier National Park, southeast of the ranger station.
