Holland America's msRyndam at 6:59 PM
This ship, a favorite of ours, brings back memories of our South American cruise in which we sailed around Cape Horn and cruised the waters of the Antarctic Peninsula. Beginning in Rio deJaneiro the cruise sailed to Valpariso, Chile. After a tour of the Concha y Torro Winery in Santiago we flew home.
That was a wonderful cruise. We highly recommend it.
Sapphire Princess
This ship approaches the turn on Sunday morning, May 21st at 6:51AM.
The 116,000 ton, 18 deck ship carries more than 2670 passengers. It nearly dwarfs the Ryndam above which is about 55,000 tons with 10 decks, and carries 1258 passengers.
May 20th was a Saturday, and our hostess, Lynda Jamieson was preparing to exhibit some paintings and prints in an art show at the Kitty Coleman Gardens down the coast about 35 miles in Courtenay. We had planned to drive up the east coast to Port Hardy on the north tip of the island for no reason in particular.
Lynda and Bob invited us to attend the show, so away we went to tag along with them for the day instead.
We hope that you come along to the show too. Those pictures are next.
