When you see large rocks strewn over land like this, do you ever wonder how they got there?
If higher hills were nearby, we could think they washed down from the higher slopes in the erosion process. But here, there is no obvious source of the big rocks.
Eucalyptus Trees Line The Highway
The trees, native to Australia, have found a friendly habitat in California.
These trees dot the landscape where ever you may travel in the state.
We were pleasantly surprised to see them growing in the latitude
of South America that hosts Santiago,
Buenos Aires, and Montevideo.
We approach wine country.
This was the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend, and lodging was hard to find and very expensive when it was found. We had looked for lodging in Bodega Bay, an pictuesque resort community on the coast. Nothing was to be found. When we checked prices at the DoubleTree Inn in Rohnert Park for Monday the 29th, prices were more than $100 higher. Booking on Sunday made the price $151.
We then found a room for the 30th in Milpitas of Silicon Valley, away from
the resort areas at a price we could manage.
We left the coast in favor of a trip to Napa, best known as the home of the California wine industry.
Come ride the Napa Wine Train, the vintage train that gives a tour of Napa Valley.
