Historic Murray
People still live in this historic town, where the miners worked the dredges 100 years ago.
I don't think the Tlinket Indians of British Columbia and Southeastern Alaska live here, but someone fancies their artwork.

Murray was once a thriving gold-mining town with a population of 5,000.
If the old west is of interest to you, this
Murray website is a must see. It has lots of old pictures and stories of the history of Murray and the nearby area.
Below: The Bedroom Goldmine Bar is so named because the owner of the building wanted his comfort while he mined his gold. He knocked a hole in a bedroom floor and dug thirty feet to bedrock and struck gold. So he operated his mine through the bedroom floor!
