We arrived in Bar Harbor in good time — about 3 hours after leaving Yarmouth.
That sure beats 2 days on the road.

It wasn't too easy to find the motel, it was just far enough out of town that we thought we may have driven past it. We checked in, and the owner gave us a nice dinner recommendation in town. The food was very good, but can't remember the name of the place. We had a lobster concoction that melted in our mouths. The only problem was that parking in downtown Bar Harbor is almost nonexistant. This is a funky little town, just made for tourists.

Best Western Motel

Accommodations are pretty expensive in Bar Harbor, so we opted for the Best Western, which was not fancy, but clean and comfortable, and the price was right. They provided a free continental breakfast too.

Bridge to the Mainland.

Bar Harbor is on Mt. Desert Island along with Acadia National Park, and some other communities.
