Maryland's Eastern Shore

Oxford - Bellevue Ferry

Day 36: Monday, September 17, 2001

A Ferry Ride
Of Differnt Kind

If you have followed along with us for the whole trip, you'll know that this was the third ferry ride. The first took us from Blacks Harbor in New Brunswick to Grand Manan Island in the Bay of Fundy. It was a fairly large ship with one vehicle deck that would accommodate several big trucks and quite a few cars.

The second was from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to Bar Harbor, Maine. That was a very large catamaran with about three vehicle decks. She held about 450 including eighteen-wheelers.

A Ferry Of A Different Kind

Not large or fancy, but it serves the purpose very well. They even let you stay in your car!

But there are times that you'll have to take the long way around by the road.

All Aboard! We're Gone!
