Note the huge timbers used in the construction. There probably are no trees this large left outside the national parks. The soaring lobby of Glacier Park Lodge is supported by 60 immense timbers, each 40-feet long and 36 to 42 inches in diameter. The Blackfeet Indians called the lodge "Oom-Coo-La-Mush-Taw" or "Big Tree Lodge".
The Indian Statue
in the lobby commemorates the friendship between the railroad the Blackfeet Tribe.
The Annex Bridge
provides a sunny place to visit, read, or just relax. The view isn't bad either.
