Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina      

The best scenery is on the back roads and older highways. We were amazed to discover miles and miles of semi-rural homes on 5 or 10 acres along these roads. Often there was no place to stop for a photo without encroaching someone's driveway. We did durn around an go back to snap a few photos of the souvenir collector's neat homestead. We would have liked to stop and chat a spell, Charles Kuralt style, but thought we lacked the celebrity to be welcomed there.
