The grainery walls were given extra strength against the load of grain they would support by the use of flying
buttresses. They didn't fly very high, but obviously, it was high enough.

The gate near the grainery has a platform with next to four niches in the wall overhead. Each nich has a hole in the center of the wall to the outside. Were these items built as defence against possible attack?
