The Mouth of the Columbia

It's a short drive from the southern tip of Willapa Bay to the first sight of the Columbia.
At this point we are not far from the place where the Columbia meets the Pacific
and dreadful currents meet the mariners who attempt to enter the river.

Crossing the Columbia
With the crossing of the Columbia we will pass into the state of Oregon.
We will stop at Fort Clatsop, the location of the fort built by the Lewis and Clark
as their winter shelter in 1806. Then we will continue south on the Oregon Coast
to enjoy sunny weather and the view of sparkling coastal scenery.
