First Formal Night Calls For A Formal Pose
On Thursday, the second night out we gathered for a formal portrait of the table group.

This pleasant fellow from Java was one of the people that made you feel good no matter what your mood was before you saw him.
At meal time he'd stroll around the ship playing the chimes to alert everyone to go to the dining room. Then after dinner he'd hand out mints or dates or some of some other treats as we left the dining room.
At lunch time he'd carry a tray of ice tea and offer it to everyone. Sometimes he's call it diet tea to entice people to have some. The double intendre here was that diet is the way his name is pronounced!
He'll be home for a furlough in February 2001. Then he'll put his wedding pictures on his website.

Nawiliwili, Kauai — Wednesday, October 11th
We went aft to the deck near our cabin to watch the early afternoon cast off. We were surprised to find so many had come back to the ship (or never left) early enough to change into swim suits and lounge in the sun by the time we got there.
