Dunedin Countryside, New Zealand
Trip Day Twenty-eight: Saturday, October 20, 2007
|
Taieri Gorge Railway Excursion
| |
The city of Dunedin is not surrounded by a great plain like the Canterbury Plain hosts the city of Christchurch. The rolling hills around Dunedin are no less beautiful, however. We saw a lot of suburban areass near Dunedin and not so many farms. These hills make good sheep pastures and they were well used.

Passengers Are Relaxed.
This is a delightful way to see the sights of an area. But train windows do not lend
themselves to good pictures. They reflect the interior and glare with any light available.
|
Back Yards
When you travel by train you see the nation's back yard.
|
Many dwellers near the tracks show great pride in their yards.
