Coconut Fiber

They use a stake anchored in the ground to give leverage to pry the fibrous husk off the coconut. This fiber has numbeous uses. You may have seen hanging flower baskets lined with the fiber. Those door mats that are so good for scraping dusty shoes are often made of coir, the husk of the coconut. How about brushes, bristles, carpets, insulation, soundproofing, and plant mulches. See the Coconut Museum site for much more.
