Our guide said that inspite of Ipanema's fame, Copacabana is still the place you want to be.

The best hotels are just across the street from the beach, albiet a very wide and busy street.

The scenery from Copabana Beach isn't bad either.
Looking across the bay, notice building on the beach that is about three times as tall as those nearby. That is the Le Meridien Copacabana Hotel. Our next page will show some pictures taken from the 28^th floor of that hotel.
