Puerto Montt, Chile

Day 20: Wednesday, January 23, 2002

7:28 AM: The sun puts a spotlight on the bay.

We look over the trees on a small point that houses a small fishing village to the bay.
The village is across a narrow channel on our left. Puerto Montt, our port, is to starboard.

8:14 AM: The city is coming to life.

Color is everywhere.

We see a corner of the fishing village beside the Dutch flag on Ryndam's stern.
