Victoria, British Columbia
Trip Day Twenty-one, May 24th, 2006
|
Crossing from Victoria to Port Angeles
10:38am: We are aboard and leaving Victoria Inner Harbour.
Regal Princess at the cruise docks in Victoria's Outer Harbour
US Coast Guard Escorts us in US waters off Port Angeles.
The Vehicle Deck of mv Coho. These ferries can carry anything, any size.
12:35 PM: We have disembarked the ferry and made our way through Port Angeles.
We stop an an EXXON station for gasoline with a price considerably lower that in BC.
When we complain about high gas prices in the US, we haven't a clue of the facts
of the issue. In BC we paid $2.179 per liter. That is equivalent to over $8.24
per gallon while US prices were topping around $3.15 per gallon.
We saw a billboard advertising petrol for over 4€ per
liter in Spain in 2005. That's a whopping $20.8!!
Come join us on our drive west and south on the Olympic Peninsula.
Lake Quinault is our destination for the day. No charge
for the petrol at Tylers' Travels!
