Rocky Mountain East Front Range

The east front of the mountains near the Air Force Academy is much more commanding than further south near Trinidad. The sky kept threatening rain, but none came that day. It would have been welcome.

Although we had visited Manitou Springs in 1998, we had not realized that the I-25 corridor in Colorado between Pueblo and Fort Collins has become a very popular place to live. On both sides of the Interstate, we saw one new subdivision after another. The highway was packed with autos and trucks of every description. Industrial parks seem to be everywhere. Almost none of the buildings posted any indication of the name or purpose of the business inside. I suppose this is for security reasons in this violent society that we live in today.
