Established in colonial times, farms along the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay continue much as they did when tobacco was king, and agents in England were the bankers for the pioneer plantation owners. The crops are different, and the methods of husbandry differ somewhat. With modern amenities such as electricity and automobiles, the tranquil, rural life continues.

Just a skip of a pebble from Washington D. C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia
these shores offer quiet respite. With or without the buildings, there were miles and miles of fields similar to this. Rows of trees form wind breaks and separate the fields.
