The Historic Hood County CourthouseJust about everything that happens in Granbury is centered on the courthouse square.
Crocket Street On The SquareHoused in a former corner filling station, the Pearl Street Pasta House offers excellent Italian cuisine. Weather permitting they operate a sidewalk cafe under the overhang. Next door, The Pan Handle sells a large variety of kitchen tools, dishes and accessories. Next to that comes Granbury Live a theater that features popular professional Branson-style entertainment. It provides a great evening of entertainment.
General Hiram B. Granburywas a popular Civil War hero for whom the town was named. Courthouse Square is a frequent venue for festivals. Arts & Crafts, carnival rides or you-name-it are offered here on week ends nearly every month. They clear out the parking lot in order to erect booths. Street-side parking is restricted. The square becomes one big mall.
Bridge Street On the SquareSandwiched between a bank on the left and the hotel on the right, antique dealers enjoy the restored space on the square. There is even space for lawyers and realtors on the square! |
