We're not going down there!

Oh yes we are! Can you see how steep this hill is? When Steve, our guide said he was going over the brink of this hill, I thought he was kidding with us. But he wasn't. These sno-coaches can handle this kind of grade easily. After we recovered from the shock, he said that when the road was built, it was level. That's how much things have changed.

Steve said this pond serves to wash the tires so the sno-coaches don't track mud onto the glacier. I have no doubt that this is true. Although Steve's a great kidder, some of what he said was reasonable and true.

Now we're on the glacier.

The suspension on these things can level almost any load on any incline.

This is a mountain peak south of where we were standing. Looking at the glacier map, I'd guess this was the lower slopes of Mt. Andromeda.
