On The Bridge

Even a tour bus doesn't provide much in the way of scenery while crossing the bridge.
The way to enjoy views from the bridge is to walk across.

Our first stop in Marin County is the visitor center and over look just north of the bridge.
There is ample parking and restrooms along with the spectular views of the San Francisco
skyline, Alcatraz, Yerba Buena Island, the Bay Bridge, Oakland, and the near shore.
It provides a turn-around for people who just want to cross the bridge.

A Less Familiar View

Notice that the Golden Gate is wide enough to allow 6 lanes of vehicle traffic
plus two pedestrian walkways.
