Trip Day Eighteen: June 29, 2000
Coeur d'Alene River Tributary
Farther east, between Prichard and Murray, the river became more and more rocky.
|
The farther east we went the bigger the rock piles,
these rock piles lined the river for miles!
|
Later, we learned that this was the results of gold mining in the late 1800s.
|
Gold miners have scarred the land from Alaska to the Amazon and more!
It it really worth the descruction they have created to gather the ore?
Everywhere they have been, the scars persist a hundred years later. Will they ever heal?
