The Locomotive

The world's first, this cog railway was built in 1869.
The Swiss picked up on the technology and now can boast the most such railways
of any place in the world. The Pikes Peak cog railway was completed in 1891.

The Train

We came up on the Auto Road from the north slope near Gorham.
The cog railway comes up from the bussier southwest side of the mountain.
