Tunnel Completed 1930

The sign says this 1.1 mile tunnel was completed in 1930. It is a long tunnel built with windows to the edge of the cliff for light and ventilation. They didn't have the equipment available to modern road builders in those days. But, think about this, almost all of the mountain roads were built by men who didn't have access to modern heavy equipment. These roads were built early in the 20th century by men using picks and shovels and dynamite!
