This is our Favorite Princess.
This was our third cruise on this ship. The first was an Alaska cruise in August of 1999.
Then about 3 months later she took us through the Panama Canal.

We were anxious to see how the ship had faired in the intervening years since the 1999 Panama Canal cruise, and we were pleased to see that she showed the same care and maintenance that made her outstanding nine years ago. Not all cruise ships receive this quality of care.

Our cabin was B308 on the port side of Baja Deck, deck 10. This is the fourth deck from the top. Our Balcony included the 5th and 6 th large spaces after the 4 windows near the bow. The port side of the ship faced east most of the time, so we saw a lot of sunrises. Baja passengers enjoy an observation deck over the bow for quick access to enjoy the scenery. Most pictures of the approach to ports-of-call throughout this site were taken from this deck.

The first thing we do when boarding a ship is to check out our cabin.

The crew was speedy in getting our baggage delivered to the staterooms, and our time was occupied with unpacking after watching our departure from Seattle.

It didn't take long to adjust to the gentle motion of the ocean and our first days aboard were spent learning where things were. We sampled the Scholarship@Sea program with guest lecturers Paul Wolfe and Ann Burgess, and still had time to attend some movies.

This was our first experience with anytime dining. We missed the opportunity to establish the relationships that can come from having the same dinner companions every day, but we did like having more opportunities to meet other passengers and the freedom to go to dinner at whatever time was convenient. We had no problem with waiting to be seated in the dining room. So, we'll probably request this type of seating on future cruises.

We will tour Mini-suite Cabin B308 next.
